TEHRAN (IQNA) – Footage featuring Quran recitation by former Arsenal midfielder Vassiriki Abou Diaby has been released on social media recently.

Vassiriki Abou Diaby

(Born on May 11, 1986) Abou Diaby is a French former professional footballer who retired from football in February 2019.

He is originally from Ivory Coast. Abou Diaby played in several European clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Auxerre, Marseille and Arsenal.

Diaby appeared in 16 matches for the French national football team.

In the following footage, he recites verses 1 to 14 of Surah Taha of the Holy Quran:

“Ta Ha. We have sent the Quran only as reminder for those who have fear (of disobeying God), not to make you, (Muhammad), miserable. It is a revelation from the Creator of the earth and the high heavens. The Beneficent God is dominant over the Throne (of the realm). To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. God is the only Lord and to Him belong all the exalted Names. And has the story of Musa come to you? When he saw fire, he said to his family: Stop, for surely I see a fire, haply I may bring to you therefrom a live coal or find a guidance at the fire. When he came near the fire he was called, ‘Moses, I Am your Lord. Take off your shoes; you are in the holy valley of Tuwa. I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind.”
