The Quran provides reasons for various practices, such as fasting, which is prescribed to promote self-restraint and piety, Qara’ati notes, adding that piety, in turn, is highlighted as essential for achieving salvation.
He also emphasizes the qualities of successful believers according to the Quran and encourages choosing the path of God over individual desires or societal trends.
