IQNA – Renowned qari and former Arsenal player Mohammad Ayyub Asif, Iranian reciter Hamed Shakernejad and Iranian Quran expert Ahmad Abolqassemi performed a beautiful Munafisah recently.

Munafisah means taking turns to recite verses from the Holy Quran.   

They performed the Munafisah during the second season of the Mahfil, a Quranic TV show that is aired on the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in Ramadan.

They recited Verses 15-16 of Surah An-Naml: “We gave knowledge to David and Soloman. They said, ‘It is only God who deserves all praise. He has exalted us above many of His believing servants.’ Solomon became the heir to David. He said, ‘People, we have been taught the language of the birds and have been granted a share of everything. This indeed is a manifest favor (from God).’”

Screening the second season of the popular program began on IRIB’s TV 3 channel on the first day of the sacred month of Ramadan on March 12.

It is broadcast just before sunset every day during the holy month, offering a spiritual oasis for viewers as they prepare to break their fast.

Mohammad Ayyub Asif is a Quran reciter from UK born in London in 1995. His father Mohammad Asif Is From Pakistan and his mother is from Morocco.

He began reciting the Holy Quran at the age of 3 and in his teenage years, he started playing football. He joined Arsenal’s football academy and later made it to the main team.

He studied in Egypt at Al Azar Islamic University. He is a master of Maqamats and specializes in Hafs from Aasim and Warsh styles of recitation of the Quran.
