Call for Submissions to 14th Intl. Festival of Razavi Book of Year

IQNA – The Organization of Libraries, Museums and Documents of Imam Reza Shrine has called for submissions to the Fourteenth International Festival of Razavi Book of Year in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad.

According to the Secretary of the event, Seyyed Jalal Hosseini, “This festival was initially held in 2010, and Hamedan (in western Iran) hosted the first and second rounds. From the third round on, Mashhad has been hosting the festival given Imam Reza shrine capacities.”

“Overall, some 3,745 works have been submitted to the secretariat during all the previous rounds, out of which some 410 books in Persian and other languages were submitted in the 13th round,” added the secretary.

Stressing that the upcoming round would be aimed at enhancing the quantity as well as the quality of the festival, Hosseini stated: “The primary objective of the 14th round is expanding scientific, cultural, research, literary and artistic activities regarding Imam Reza’s life and conduct.”

This round of the event is about eight main topics including ‘Hadith & Narrators’, ‘Ethics & Educational Science’, ‘Islamic Jurisprudence & Law’, ‘Philosophy & Theology’, ‘Psychology’, ‘Social Sciences’, ‘Biographies, History & Anthropology’ and ‘Imam Reza’s Medical Science: Old & New Approaches’.

The international section of the festival showcases bestsellers by non-Iranian publishers in different languages.

“A new section dubbed ‘Razavi Book Servant’ has been newly added to the festival, which cherishes authors and publishers with most and best works about Imam Reza over three rounds of the festival”, continued Hosseini.

Also, in a bid to cooperate with the 5th International Imam Reza Congress, creators of books on ‘Imam Reza’s Civilizational Mindset: Justice for All, Oppression for None’ will be cherished.

According to the secretary, the submitted works need to have been published between 2021 and 2024 in at least 32 pages.

The submitted works could be in a wide range of categories such as authorship, translation, poetry, scripts, novel and fiction, digital books, etc., out of which one fine work will be chosen and granted ‘Razavi Prize’.

According to Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Bagheri, the scientific secretary of the festival, accomplished lecturers and scholars from seminaries and top universities in Iran form the scientific committee and panel.
