A clip shared by a Turkish tourist in New York has gone viral. The video features the owner of a small restaurant who plays Quran recitations on the street daily, despite being fined, Al Jazeera reported.

When asked by the Turkish tourist how he manages to play the Quran loudly and whether it is legal, the restaurant owner explained that he pays a $50 fine each day but continues to play the recitations.

Many social media users have praised the actions of this Egyptian immigrant, who sells sandwiches and juice from his small shop in the heart of New York City.
