More than 300 Urdu-speaking pilgrims from India and Pakistan attended the Quranic event, which was held Tuesday night ahead of the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA).
The non-Iranian pilgrims’ department of the holy shrine’s Astan (custodianship) organized the Quranic session.
The participants recited Surah Yaseen of the Holy Quran at the event.
Then Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Morteza Naqavi, an Islamic seminary scholar, delivered a speech in which he elaborated on the sublime character of Hazrat Zahra (SA) and her role in the history of Islam.
He underlined the need for taking lessons from the great lady’s life and Seerah.
The cleric said different aspects of the character of Hazrat Zahra (SA) have made her a unique role model for humanity of all ages.
Her deep faith and her pure acts of worship are among the aspects that can make anyone think and learn from them, he added.

Hojat-ol-Islam Naqavi went on to say that with her insight and vigilance, Hazrat Zahra (SA) stood against oppression and injustice, which demonstrates her bravery and courage in defending people’s rights.
The Quranic session also included recitation of elegies by Ahmad Ali Khan.
Shia Muslims and others in different parts of the world hold rituals every year on the third day of the month of Jumada al-Thani in the lunar Hijri calendar to mourn the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA), the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
