IQNA – On the western side of the Grand Bazaar of Tabriz, stands the Mojtahed Mosque, also known as the "63-Pillar Mosque of Tabriz." This mosque is considered one of the oldest and most historic mosques in East Azarbaijan Province.

Originally constructed approximately 450 years ago, the mosque was entirely rebuilt about 250 years ago during the Qajar era after being completely destroyed by an earthquake.

The mosque’s construction is attributed to Haj Mirza Baqer Mojtahed. According to Nader Mirza, it was built by Mojtahed using funds collected from the wealthy residents of Tabriz.
