The project aims to revitalize the role of traditional Quranic schools and religious education, in line with the efforts of the ministry of Awqaf to strengthen religious education and contribute to the dissemination of Islamic culture within society, the department said, Al-Ahram reported.
Mohamed Salama, an official with the department, said the Awqaf ministry calls on all Egyptian of different age groups to participate in this initiative, which will provide them with the opportunity to learn the Quran and strengthen the role of mosque imams and educators in delivering educational lessons at mosques and cultural centers affiliated with the ministry.
In this plan, separate spaces will be designated for children and adults, where appropriate educational topics will be offered to meet the needs of each group, he stated.
Noting that the project is going to be implemented across Egypt, he said the revival of traditional Quranic schools will align with the national strategy for developing religious education and instilling religious values in society.
“We will collaborate with several educational and cultural institutions to achieve its goals,” he went on to say.
