Ceremony Held to Replace Flag, Covering of Imam Reza Holy Shrine
IQNA – The ceremony to change the flag of the Imam Reza (AS) shrine and the covering of the Zarih was held Wednesday, August 27, at the holy mausoleum in Mashhad.
A Zarih is an outer sarcophagus enclosure of a holy shrine. The green flag is adorned with Verse 13 of Surah As-Saff “…Victory from Allah and an imminent conquest”. The flag and the covering are replaced according to tradition every year on the third of Rabi al-Awwal by the servants of the Razavi holy shrine.
