‘From Thirst to Fire’: Taziyeh Performance in Iran’s Fasa
IQNA – As mourning processions continue in Iran during the month of Muharram, a Taziyeh (passion play) performance titled “From Thirst to Fire” was held in the village of Sahrarud near Fasa, southern Iran.
In this performance, in addition to the narration of the epic of Karbala, a re-creation of the scene of the martyrdom of the students of the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab was also performed.
Taziyeh is a kind of passion play telling the story of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions in the 680AD Battle of Karbala.
