Iranian People Decorate, Light Up Streets on Mid Sha’aban
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Millions of Iranians along with Shia Muslims all over the world have been holding ceremonies to celebrate the anniversary of the birthday of the twelfth and last Shia Imam, Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his glad advent).
This year, Mid-Sha’aban, the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar that marks the joyous occasion, fell on Wednesday, May 2.
In Iran, people decorate and light up streets and gather inside mosques and other religious sites nationwide to celebrate the auspicious occasion.
