It is known for hosting cultural and religious events and speeches by figures like Morteza Motahari, Mohammad Mofatteh and Ali Shariati.
In 1980, a 2000-square-meter plot of land adjacent to Hosseiniyeh Ershad was bought and the Hosseiniyeh Ershad Mosque was built in it.
