Quran Replacement Ceremony Held on Shiraz Day

IQNA – A ceremony was held in Iran’s southern city of Shiraz Saturday during which the Quran copy of the city’s Quran Gate was replaced with a new one.

The Quran Gate is a historic gate in the north of Shiraz, Iran, and is known as a symbol of the city. 

Every year, the Municipality of Shiraz replaces the copy of the Quran at the Quran Gate with a new one on Shiraz Day.

Ordibehesht 15 in the Iranian calendar that falls on May 5 is celebrated as Shiraz Day every year to highlight the city of internationally-recognized great poets, Saadi and Hafez.
