If the West finally comes to terms with a genuinely independent Iran, which has been forced to build up its own industries and is ready to "break out" economically, the failure of the Saudi and Zionist "parasite-for-empire" strategies will become obvious.

This is according to American Islamologist Dr. Kevin Barrett who is one of America's best-known critics of the War on Terror. In an interview with IQNA, he discussed the Zionist-Wahabbi alliance and the eminent end of the US hegemony.

Q: Saudi Arabia and the fictitious Zionist regime have extended their collaborative activities as to propping up the Syrian terrorists. This came as the recent Iran-US nuclear talks triggered the high hope that the long-standing stalemate may be on the verge of getting resolved.

As you mentioned in one of your articles, a new alliance called “Zio-Wahabbi Empire of Saudi Israelia” is emerging in the Middle East.  Does this show that the fear of collapse is growing among the two regimes’ leaders?

A: Yes, I think the Zio-Wahabbi alliance reflects the two regimes' well-founded fears that they are being left behind by history. Both regimes only exist because they are propped up by the US. But the era of the US as sole world hegemon is drawing to a close. In a multi-polar world, regimes like these will be unable to withstand the pressures for democratization and they will fall. In the end, Arabia will not be Saudi, and Palestine will not be Zionist.

Q: Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime have much in common and it can be said confidently that Zionism equals Wahabism. What common interests do the two regimes have? Kindly explain.

A: First, both regimes are parasitical. The Saudis live on unearned oil wealth and US military and intelligence support, while the Israelis live on US taxpayer subsidies, usury, and the proceeds of global organized crime. Neither has any interest in using the oil wealth of the Middle East for the benefit of the average person of the region. In that sense they are the enemies of democracy and the supporters of the neo-colonial subjugation of the Middle East.

Q:Will the failure of conspiracies to overthrow the Syrian government further weaken the two regimes?

A: Both the Saudi and Israel leaders are furious that their plots to drag the US into a bigger war on Syria have not succeeded. Their failure to have their way on this issue shows that they will become increasingly irrelevant as the balance of power in the Middle East, and the world, becomes more multi-polar.

Q: Are Saudi Arabia and Israel afraid of the reconstruction of Iran’s international position? Why?

A: Iran has survived 34 years of Zionist-imperialist attempts to isolate it internationally and return it to its former status as a neo-colony. It has not yet managed to export its revolutionary Islamic model, but it has had some success building an axis of resistance against Zionism and imperialism and establishing its independence. If the West finally comes to terms with a genuinely independent Iran, which has been forced to build up its own industries and is ready to "break out" economically, the failure of the Saudi and Zionist "parasite-for-empire" strategies will become obvious. Iran and an increasingly independent Turkey could become the big powers of the Middle East, while the Zionists and Saudis succumb to popular pressure for regime change.
