Quran Translations in 8 Languages Ready for Publication
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Naqdi said one of the renderings, the Japanese translation, has been sent to Japan for final proofreading, Tasnim reported.
He said it is the first Japanese translation of the Quran rendered by a Shia scholar.
The other seven languages in which the Holy Book has been translated are Bengali, Georgian, Rwandan, Pashtu, Maranao, Balti and Luganda.
The three latter languages are spoken by people in South East Asia (especially the Philippines), Pakistan, and Uganda, respectively.
Hojat-ol-Islam Naqdi noted that the institute is also working to present new translation of Islam’s Holy Book in Russian, French, Italian, Swedish, Lezgian (Caucasus), Zulu (South Africa), and Dagbani (Ghana).
Tarjoman-e Vahy Institute’s Quran Translations Archive, is the most complete in the World.
The Institute has a collection of 5600 volumes of Quran translations into 145 languages from among which about 100 volumes are translations of the entire Quran and the rest include translations of some chapters and Surahs.
