The seminar was also to serve as a training ground to orientate the youth on the essence of Ramadan and the need to prepare adequately towards the period.
Alhaji Haruna Zagoon, an Islamic Scholar said Ramadan has a lot of phases including social, moral, religious and political.
He said: “As students it is important for them to know the essence of Ramadan, and as such must ensure that the spiritual upliftment we have during Ramadan must be maintained and reflect in our daily lives.”
He said Muslims must get themselves ready for the 30-day fast to attain the highest level of spirituality since the purpose is for them to become pious.
Zagoon said Ramadan is an opportunity to impact on the society and let people and the world know that Islam is peace and Muslims are peaceful people.
He urged the students to let the lessons of peace, charity and piety learnt from the Ramadan period reflect in their lives even after the period.
Abdul Rahman Al-hasan, an Islamic Scholar said Ramadan is about attaining piety and there are three things that would make a Muslim pious including the fear of Allah, working patiently with the words of the Quran and being content with whatever Allah has given you.
He said the youth are the future leaders of the society especially the Muslim community and it is important for them to develop their moral and religious lives properly to be able to help in development.
He advised the students to tread cautiously in their ways and always remember that everything they do on this earth, they would be accountable to the Almighty Allah.
Dr Sheikh Amen Bonsu, National Chairman of Ghana Muslim Mission advised the students to take their studies seriously as well as live good lives devoid of immoral practices to become good leaders in the near future.
He urged them to maintain healthy habits in order to stay strong and healthy all the time, especially during the month of Ramadan.
