Addressing a ceremony held to inaugurate the international section of the Holy Quran Exhibition, Muhammad Abdul Marouf Abdul Mohsin Al-Khouli said Tahaddi means different nations throughout history have been unable to produce a word like the Quran and that indicates the miraculous characteristic of the Holy Book.
Al-Khouli, who teaches at Suez Canal University, referred to verse 88 of Surah Isra "Say, 'If mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants'," and said the verse shows that even Arabs whose language is that of the Quran cannot bring anything like the Quran's verses.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Egyptian scholar cited verse 22 of Surah Rum "And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge," and highlighting the different languages spoken in the world said in order to spread the teachings and messages of the Quran in the world, translation of the Quran into various languages is a must.
The international section of the 22nd Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition was inaugurated on Sunday night.
The section will be running for ten days at the Holy Defense Garden-Museum.
Artworks by foreign artists from 18 countries including Russia, Kuwait, Croatia, Tunisia, Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan, Spain, India, Algeria, and Turkey are on display at the section and scholars from several countries will take part in four forums planned to be held at the exhibit.
