Prophet Muhammad a Perfect Role Model of Morality, Unity: Researcher

IQNA – A religious scholar in Qom has described Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the ultimate role model for humanity, stressing that his moral character serves as a guide for Muslims today.

Hojat-ol-Islam Hassan Shirzad, a researcher at the Center for Culture and Quranic Knowledge, underlined that “the greatest asset of a human being is their lifetime,” adding that how one spends those years determines true success.

“The best role model that God has introduced for humanity is Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), whose noble character brought together a fragmented society and who can still guide the Muslim community today,” Shirzad said while addressing a local event on Sunday.

Citing the Quran, he referred to verse 21 of Surah al-Ahzab: “There is certainly a good exemplar for you in the Apostle of Allah—for those who look forward to Allah and the Last Day, and remember Allah much.” He explained that the verse highlights how following the Prophet (PBUH) has both spiritual and practical dimensions, requiring faith in God, belief in the afterlife, and constant remembrance of the divine.

He also quoted Imam Ali (AS), who said: “The way of the Prophet is sufficient for you as a model.”

According to Shirzad, the Prophet’s (PBUH) purity and integrity make him a source of dignity for those who follow him, noting that “the most honored servant is the one who follows the Prophet (PBUH) and walks in his footsteps.”

Shirzad pointed out that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) governed for 23 years and lived among people for 63 years. “If his morals, behavior, and conduct are taken seriously, especially by Islamic societies and their rulers, the effects will be profound,” he said.

He also cited verse 4 of Surah Al-Qalam which addresses the Prophet (PBUH), saying, “and indeed you possess a great character.”

The researcher stressed that moral conduct remains essential for the cohesion of the Muslim community. He quoted the Prophet (PBUH)as saying: “The most complete of the believers in faith are those with the best character” and “The most virtuous among you in faith are those with the best character.”

He added another Prophetic saying: “The closest to me tomorrow on the Day of Resurrection will be those with the best character.”

“These teachings show that the great Prophet of Islam (PBUH) is an eternal model of happiness, morality, and salvation for humanity,” Shirzad said.
