The program was hosted by the Iranian Studies Center and Iranian Department of the Faculty of Philosophy at Al-Farabi National University.
It was organized on the sidelines of a forum on “investigation of Farabi’s philosophical thoughts”.
Reza Davari Ardakani, author of the book and head of the Academy of Sciences in Iran, Negar Davari, research deputy and member of the scientific board of Shahid Beheshti University, Asqar Saberi, Iranian cultural attaché in Kazakhstan and a number of university lecturers, students and officials of Al-Farabi University’s Faculty of Oriental Studies participated at the ceremony.
Addressing the program, Reza Davari Ardakani elaborated on Farabi’s thoughts and viewpoints as well as the influence of the scholar on the development of Islamic philosophy.
The author gifted some copies of the book to Farabi Library, the Center of Studies on Farabi, Iranian Studies Center and Iranian Department of Al-Farabi University and the university lecturers and students participated at the program.
The book was published by the Iranian Cultural Center in cooperation with Islamic Studies Foundation in Moscow.
Almat Absalikov has translated the book from Persian into the Russian language. Yanis Eshots, professor of Islamic philosophy and Safar Abdullah a lecturer of Kazakhstan universities have edited the translation.
Al-Farabi, known in the West as Alpharabius, was a renowned scientist and philosopher of the Islamic Golden Age. He was also a cosmologist, logician, and musician, representing the multidisciplinary approach of Muslim scientists.
