Tajik Girl Ranks 1st in Egypt Quran Contest

-- A 4-year-old Tajik girl, who has learned the whole Quran by heart, came first in the 5th Al-Kharafi Quran Memorization Competition in Egypt.
Tabarak was the youngest non-Arab participant in the contest.

The 5th Al-Kharafi Quran Memorization Competition was held in three categories: memorization of the whole Quran with interpretation of one section of the divine book, memorization of the whole book with interpretation of a half section of the holy Quran, and memorization of 20 sections of the holy Quran.

Egyptian Minister of Owqaf and Islamic Affairs Mahmoud Hamdi Zaqzuq, the country's grand Mufti Ali Guma, Head of Kuwait's Legislation Commission Khalid Al-Madhkur, and deputy chief of the headquarters for holding the competition were present in the closing ceremony of the event on Thursday.
