Reviving Imam Khomeini’s (RA) Thought to Pave Way for Establishment of Global Peace

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An Iranian diplomat said reviving the thoughts of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini (RA) could pave the way for the establishment of peace in the world.

Mohsen Pakayeen, who is Iran’s Ambassador in Azerbaijan, added that it would be a major factor in tackling terrorism and violence globally.


He made the remarks in an address to a meeting held in Azerbaijan on “Islamic Unity and Confronting Violence in View of Imam Khomeini (RA)”.


Pakayeen underlined that Imam Khomeini (RA) introduced values such as religion, ethics and spirituality into the political concepts.


He further noted that Imam Khomeini (RA) considered relations with Muslim countries, promoting understanding among Muslims and enhancing Islamic unity as a priority.


The meeting on “Islamic Unity and Confronting Violence in View of Imam Khomeini (RA)” was organized by the Iranian Cultural Center in Azerbaijan on the anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini (RA).


This Thursday will mark the 26th anniversary of the passing of Imam Khomeini (RA).


Every year, Iranians across the country and abroad as well as people in various other countries hold mourning ceremonies to mark the decease of Imam Khomeini (RA).


In Tehran, a large number of people and officials gather at Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum in the south of the Iranian capital for a commemoration ceremony.


Imam Khomeini passed away on June 3, 1989, eleven days after he was taken to hospital for an operation to stop internal bleeding in May 1989.
