TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Permanent Secretariat of Islamic Parliament of Iran’s International Conference on Supporting Palestinian Intifada condemned the US’ so-called ‘deal of the century’ as an attempt to formalize occupation of Palestine.

In a statement released on Tuesday, it said that by unveiling the ‘deal of the century’ plan, the “racist and terrorist” president of the United States seeks to formalize the occupation of Palestine.

The statement stressed that the only legitimate solution to the current crisis is the one offered by the Islamic Republic of Iran, which involves a referendum allowing all Palestinians to decide their future.

It also condemned the recent theatrical show on Holocaust as a US-Zionist plot that mocks realities and the world public opinion.

The statement said the US and certain European countries are well aware that the real Holocaust has been committed by the Zionists against the oppressed Palestinian nation and has continued before the eyes of world people for decades.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh called on international powers Monday to boycott US President Donald Trump’s so-called peace plan, seen by Palestinians as being biased towards Israel. Trump's plan is expected to weigh heavily in Israel’s favor.

The plan has been criticized as a distraction from Benjanim Netanyahu’s recent charges of fraud and corruption and Trump's impeachment proceedings.

In June 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei reiterated the need for a referendum among “true Palestinians of all faiths,” being Muslims, Christians or Jews, adding that such a move would lead to the establishment of the Palestinian government.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the referendum and the subsequent formation of such a governing system would eventually translate into the destruction of the "bogus regime" of Israel in the not-too-distant future.
