Development of Quranic Programs in Palestine despite Coronavirus Pandemic

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Religious Affairs in Gaza said it has successfully organized Quranic programs and trained Quran memorizers despite the coronavirus pandemic.

 

According to felesteen.ps, Mohammad Salem, an official with the ministry, said that despite the pandemic, it has achieved better results than previous years with regards to the number of those who have memorized the Holy Quran.

He added that various Quran competitions have been held this year by the General Administration of Memorization at the Ministry including memorization of ten and twenty Juzes (parts) of the Quran.

He explained that the Gaza Endowments Directorate have organized 76 workshops for memorizing the Holy Quran, 72 in mosques, and 4 in prisons, supervised by 72 governors.

Salem pointed out that the number of male students in the Quran memorization centers in the Gaza Endowments Directorate is 864, and 5 mentors oversee the memorization programs. 

The ministry has organized electronic Quran reading sessions and 40 online Quran memorization courses, he added.

This year 46 memorizers of the entire Quran, 15 memorizers of twenty Juzes and 100 memorizers of ten Juzes of Quran have graduated from the Quran centers of the ministry, he said.
