VIDEO: Arbaeen Mourning Rituals at Hearing Impaired Center in Karbala

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The hearing impaired specialized center in the holy city of Karbala organized a mourning ritual for the hearing-impaired on Arbaeen.

According to the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussain (AS) holy shrine, the mourning was held in the sign language.

During the Arbaeen season last month, the center also provided the hearing-impaired pilgrims with accommodation, votive food and other services.

Arbaeen marks the 40th day that followed the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS), the third Shia Imam, and his 72-strong companions in the Battle of Karbala, in what is now southern Iraq, in 680 AD.

The battle featured an unjust fight between Imam Hussain (AS) and his army and the hugely outnumbered army of the Umayyad caliph of the time, Yazid I.
