Miraculous Aspects of Quran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Quran is a miracle by God Almighty. There have been people since early Islam who have rejected the miraculous nature of the Holy Book but Quranic verses offer a clear response to these claims.

This has been referred to with the term “tahaddi” which means to challenge someone to combat you or compete with you in order to show that they will fail. This is a religious term and is a requirement for miracles as prophets challenge their opponents to offer a miracle similar to the God-given ones.

The Quran, too, asks those who deny the Holy Book and the prophethood of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) to bring a text similar to it. Six verses in the Quran point to this issue. One of them is verse 34 of Surah At-Tur which reads “Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true!”

During the past centuries, many individuals have tried to fight against Islam and the Quran but no one has been able to prove their claims and convince others.

The miraculous aspect of the Quran is not just limited to its eloquence. The Book is a miracle because there are no contradictions in it; “Will they not ponder on the Quran? Had it not come from someone other than God, they would have certainly found therein many contradictions.” (Surah An-Nisa, verse 82) It is a miracle as it points to what happens in the future; Surah Ar-Rum points to the defeat of Romans in their own land and their victory in the future. The Quran is a miracle because it has pointed to scientific facts years before they were discovered by scientists; facts such as plants having male and female gender (Surah Al-Hejr, Verse 22) and the effect of gravity on the growth of plants (Surah Al-Hejr, Verse 19).

The Quran has been revealed based on the limitless divine wisdom while any other book, written by anybody, is written based on limited knowledge of man. So, humans can never bring a book like the Quran.
