TEHRAN (IQNA) – The phrase “Wa min Ayatihi (And among His signs)” is one of the most frequent phrases in the Quran that points to the order and harmony in the world and the fact that the world could never have been created by chance.

Looking for signs of God around Us

Paying attention to some of divine signs in nature shows us the existence of God. “We will show them Our signs in all the horizons and in themselves, until it is clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is witness over everything? ” (Verse 53 of Surah Fussilat)

There are many signs of God in nature. Have we ever thought about mountains? They store water falling in the form of rain and snow and curb storms. They play a role in regulating weather and their stone is used for building and for other purposes.

The sun provides light and energy for the earth. Ocean water evaporates when sunlight warms the surface of the water. Then the earth’s gravity pulls the water down and it rains.

The roots of plants absorb nutrients and send them to leaves where the sunlight is absorbed.

Are these examples of order and harmony not the reason for the existence of an infinite power who runs the world?

This harmony can also be seen in animals’ world. There is a proportional relationship between the feet of camels and its habitat, namely deserts that are full of sands and thorns. Ducks have a fat layer beneath the skin that keeps them buoyant and helps them swim.

There are also signs of God in creation of human beings.

The Quran says, “Have We not given him two eyes?” (Verse 8 of Surah Al-Balad)

If you think about the structure of the eyes, you will realize that they are more amazing that the most powerful cameras.

Our eyes have six layers of protection, including tear, eyelashes, eyelids, and eyebrows.

There are countless of such examples in our body that shows there is an excellent harmony, planning and order in their function.

Yes there is an obvious order in the universe which attests to the existence of God and His oneness.

So reflecting on the universe helps one to move toward recognizing the existence of God. And remembering divine favors and blessing helps one love God. It has been said that God told Moses (AS) to make people love Him and Moses asked how. “Remind them of My blessings,” God answered.
