Iran, Turkey Call for Closer Cooperation in New Islamic Civilization Field

IQNA – The dean of Ankara University’s Faculty of Theology and the Iranian Cultural Attaché in Turkey called for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of new Islamic civilization.

Irfan Aycan, the dean of Ankara University’s Faculty of Theology held talks with Seyed Qassem Nazemi, the Iranian Cultural Attaché in Turkey.

 

Irfan Aycan visited the Iranian Cultural Center in Ankara and held talks with the cultural attaché, Seyed Qassem Nazemi, according to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO).

At the meeting, Nazemi voiced readiness to make coordination for a visit by a delegation from Ankara University’s Faculty of Theology to Iran to hold meetings with university scholars in Tehran.

It was decided that the trip will be made in April or May next year.

The two sides also discussed holding a joint scholarly conference on the role of Iran and Turkey in the new Islamic civilization.

Aycan highlighted Iran’s importance in the field of Islamic theology and said he is keen to visit Iran and meet with Iranian theology scholars.

He added that Iran’s art, culture and civilization are known in the world.

He also noted that a protocol of cooperation has recently been signed between his faculty and the Theology Faculty of the University of Tehran, expressing hope that it would lead to increased cooperation between the two sides.
