Mozaffarieh Bazaar of Tabriz

IQNA – The Tabriz carpet bazaar, known as Mozaffarieh Timcheh, is one of the great historical and traditional markets for handmade carpets in the northwestern Iranian city.

It dates back to 1305 Hijri (1888) during the reign of the Qajar dynasty. At the time, when Mozaffareddin Mirza was the crown prince, a renowned businessman in Tabriz named Sheikh Jafar Qazvini built this section of the Grand Bazaar of Tabriz and named it Mozaffarieh Timcheh. It is now a place where the best hand-woven carpets of Tabri are sold.
