Algerian Quran Center Ready to Admit Students from Neighboring Countries

IQNA – The dean of the Grand Mosque of Algiers said the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the mosque is ready to accept students from Algeria’s neighboring African countries.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Mauritania Mohamed El-Amine Ould Abi Cheikh El-Hadrami meets with Dean of the Grand Mosque of Algiers Mohammed Al-Mamoun Al-Qasimi Al-Hassani.

 

The mosque is planning to take steps to admit a number of students from countries neighboring Algeria, particularly from the Sahel region of Africa, Mohammed Al-Mamoun Al-Qasimi Al-Hassani said, al-Ayyam daily reported.

He made the remark during a meeting with visiting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Mauritania Mohamed El-Amine Ould Abi Cheikh El-Hadrami.

Al-Hassani explored ways to strengthen the collaboration and academic partnership between Mauritanian academic institutions and the scientific institutions affiliated with the Grand Mosque of Algiers.

He said that expanding this type of cooperation would lead to stronger relations between the two countries.

The Dar-ol-Quran Center is a division of the Grand Mosque of Algiers and one of the organizations integrated into this mosque, focusing on both religious and non-religious education.

This center, which is an advanced school for postgraduate studies in Islamic and religious sciences, aims to nurture elite doctoral students over four academic semesters, provided they complete the Quran memorization course.
