It was organized by the Quran Movement Foundation as part of the eighth edition of the National Quran Memorization Program, which is conducted under the supervision of the foundation.
Sheikh Muhammad Ma’mun Qassemi al-Hassani, the custodian of the Great Mosque of Algiers, said in a speech at the ceremony that the Quran has been and continues to be an important reference in the life of the Algerian nation and a source of inspiration for the revolutionaries of Algeria during the country's liberation struggle.
He said the immunity granted to the nation by the Holy Quran is the foundation of its strength and stability.
Al-Hassani added that the Quran has been a reference for the education and guidance of various generations in Algeria. “We must remain committed to the mission of the Quran, just like our ancestors.”
He also highlighted the role of the foundation in Algerian society, saying that discussing the mission of the Quran in Algeria means talking about a comprehensive and all-encompassing Quranic movement.
He emphasized that honoring this number of memorizers is a memorable day that highlights the importance of investing in young people, who are the pillars of Algeria’s future.
Ibrahim Lamouri, the president of the foundation in Algeria, was another speaker at the ceremony.

He said the eighth edition of the Quran memorization program in Algeria was held as part of intensive efforts in the Quran memorization camps affiliated with the foundation.
