Former head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) said the organization’s focus on translation of Islamic-Iranian works has been among its major achievements.

Speaking to IQNA, Mohammad Baqer Khorramshad said he attached much importance to the issue of research during his three-year term as head of the ICRO.

He said the result was publication of precious books and papers by the organization’s researchers and Iran’s cultural attachés.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Khorramshad said that during his term, special attention was paid to the selection of cultural attachés, adding that one of the main criteria was the candidate’s mastery over at least one foreign language.

He also pointed to the use of the cyberspace for promoting the Iranian-Islamic culture in other countries as an important move that led to the publication of e-magazine in foreign languages.

Khorramshad has recently been replaced by Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman. Ebrahimi Torkaman was appointed as the new head of the ICRO by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati.
