News ID: 1415194
An “Encyclopedia of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS)” will be published by the Research Center for Sciences and Culture affiliated to the Islamic Development Department in the holy city of Qom.

In a meeting of more than 40 researchers and experts in the field of history, Ne’matullah Safari Forushani was assigned as the director of the project and entries of the history section of the encyclopedia were selected.

The objectives of the encyclopedia were also clarified at the meeting and Safari noted that the project aims to provide a role model from the Seerah of Ahl-ul-Bayt (As).
Making the best use of the potentials of historical resources and disseminating the culture of “writing down the knowledge” among the scholars are the other objectives of the project, he added.
Safari said that the encyclopedia will contain entries in two fields of history and teachings to cover the main aspects of the infallibles’ (AS) life.
The entries will be listed alphabetically and the biography of the 14 infallibles (AS) will come in the first part of the encyclopedia.
In this part the entries will contain fathers, mothers and those children and companions of the infallibles (AS) who played influential political and cultural roles in introducing Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
The encyclopedia plans to provide rich articles to manifest the expertise of seminary scholars, promote proximity of Islamic faiths, eliminate superstitions and will be able to compete with other articles in such fields.
The articles will be translated into different languages.
A 13-member specialized committee as well as scientific councils have been formed to evaluate and enrich the encyclopedia.
With the aim of training a scientific generation, as another objective of the project, some workshops have been planned for researchers to be held with the participation of experts in history and encyclopedia writing.
