Director of Quran indexes Department of the Center of Holy Quran’s Culture and Teachings said the “Quran Glossary” will be translated and published in English, Arabic and Urdu.

Hojat-ol-Islam ‘Isaa ‘Isaazadeh told IQNA that the first volume of an English translation of the grand work will be published this year.

He said the 30-volume collection was completed in 2009 and has been received well in Middle Eastern and Arab countries.

It is the most comprehensive glossary of the Holy Quran and a unique work, he added.

The collection has received the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Book of the Year Award and Hawzah Book of the Year Award.

A volume of the collection rendered into the English language by Hojat-ol-Islam Bahmanpour, from London Islamic College, has been submitted to the center to be evaluated.

The scholar said that two volumes of the collection in Arabic were published before the holy month of Ramadan and translation of its third volume was completed in the holy month.

He also noted that an Urdu translation of the collection is underway by a Pakistani institute called Imam Al-Muntadhar.

Bustan-e Ketab Publications in Iran will publish the Urdu translation and distribute it in Pakistan.

The director went on to say that the Arabic and Urdu versions of the collection will be completed in 16 and 40-50 volumes respectively.

He also noted that only some of the volumes will be selected for translation into English and that the English version will have 10 volumes.
