IQNA – Bahrain’s top Shia cleric said in a speech that millions of Iranians are defending the independence and security of their country by supporting the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim

Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim made the remark in response to US President Donald Trump’s recent threats against Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, which have drawn widespread condemnations.

The US president’s policies that are based on hegemony and the use of material power have seriously threatened global peace and security, and in return, Sheikh Qassim said, according to a post by the Bahraini Al-Wefaq Society on X.

He emphasized that a large part of the people and governments of the world, regardless of their position towards the United States, are concerned about their fate and the future of the world, because Trump’s policies are without regard for reason, religion and morality, and have created a serious threat to global security.

He called US policies a “destructive and hegemonic approach” and added that Washington’s claims about supporting nations and respecting the independence of countries are nothing more than lies, and aggressive actions such as the 12-day war against Iran in June 2025 and the threat of wider attacks indicate direct targeting of the Iranian nation, not respect for its rights and interests.

Ayatollah Qassim continued by describing the scientific, spiritual, and political position of Ayatollah Khamenei as exceptional and unparalleled, and said millions of people are his devotees.
