Youths Should Be Warned Against Takfiri Threat

Teenagers and youths in different societies might be misled by Takfiri groups and, therefore, it is upon Muslim scholars to warn them against the Takfiri threat, a Shia source of emulation said.

Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi added that combating Takfiris militarily is not enough but their ideological roots should be tackled scientifically.
He underlined that the media, political activists, scholars and others ought to fight the Takfiri ideology and said the Takfiri menace could spread everywhere if it is not confronted. 
His comments came as an international conference began today in the holy city of Qom, Iran, to investigate Muslim scholars’ views about extremist and Takfiri groups.
It is held under the auspices of two grand sources of emulation Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi and Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani.
Prominent Sunni and Shia Muslim scholars from 83 countries are taking part in the international event, which aims to raise awareness about different aspects of the threat of Takfir and extremism.
Titled “Extremist and Takfiri Groups in View of Muslim Scholars”, the conference will feature some 60 papers and lectures by eminent religious scholars.
