Study Centre to Promote Holy Quran Learning Set up in Dubai

- Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Saturday inaugurated the Al Manar Quran Study Centre at the Indian Islamic Centre here.
The event was organised to coincide with the National Day celebrations. Among the guests were present Ibrahim bint Melha, Adviser to the Dubai’s Ruler, Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, Hamad Al Shaibani, Director-General of Dubai Department of Islamic Affairs, and the Indian Ambassador to the UAE, CM Bhandari.

The event was held under the patronage of Shaikha Hind bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Shaikha Hind, in a message read out on her behalf, said, “We established this centre for the benefit of Arab and non-Arab Muslim children by way of a continual Holy Quran learning process including devoted efforts to the memorisation of Holy Quran and researches so that the Almighty, by His permission, blesses us to enjoy a generation of memorisers of the Holy Book passing out of this Centre.”

“I am very happy with the different methods adopted by the Centre for its activities of imparting Holy Quran-related knowledge for national as well as expatriate adults and children including those who attend regular schools and wish to get in touch with the pure spring of the Holy Book.”

A venture initiated by the UAE Indian Islamic Centre, the Al Manar Quran Study Centre is built in Al Quoz. It is dedicated to the establishment of a distinctive and progressive Islamic education system strictly compliant with standards set by the Department of Awqaf and the Dubai International Holy Quran Award Committee.

Focusing on the studies associated with the Holy Quran and related subjects, the Al Manar has a 12-member governing body led by Ibrahim Mohammed Bu Milha as the Chief Adviser, Shamasuddhin Bin Mhiuddhin as the Director General and Moulavi Abdussalam Mongam as the Administrator.

The centre also offers Holy Quran memorising courses for Arab and non-Arab students, men and women, Hadith learning classes and Arab language classes.
Also in the pipeline are computer courses, coaching classes for higher education, Islamic study classes for non-Muslims, Urdu and English medium religious classes.
