Arbaeen is the annual Shia pilgrimage marking 40 days after Ashura, when Imam Hussein (AS) was martyred in Karbala. It draws millions on foot from Najaf and other cities. This year’s walk is expected to attract more than twenty million pilgrims.
Imam Hassan Mujtaba Town is located between Najaf and Karbala. It serves as a major service center for walkers heading to the holy shrines in Karbala
Ali Al-Musallamani, deputy director of the town, said the facility is ready as part of the comprehensive service plan by the Imam Hussein (AS) shrine. “We have completed preparations to receive pilgrims with rest areas, fully equipped air‑conditioned tents and meal centers,” he said.
The site offers overnight accommodation halls and air‑cooled tents. Food and cold drinks are available around the clock.
