First Grand Mosque Opened in Spain's Malaga

Malaga– A grand mosque was opened in the Spanish city of Malaga. This is the first mosque to be built in Malaga, exactly 525 years after expulsion of Muslims from this historic city.
--The sprawling mosque complex spreads on an area of 6000 square meters. Its construction took two years to complete. The mosque was built with the financing worth 22 million euros extended by Saudi Arabia.
The formal opening of the mosque, which is regarded as the largest mosque in Europe, will be held later.
The mosque is one of the landmarks of the city, which attracts millions of European tourists every year.
The mosque complex consists of a fully fledged Islamic center, which houses a prayer hall with capacity to accommodate 1000 worshippers, as well as meeting halls.
The mosque was built in the Islamic-Spanish architectural pattern and the height of its minarets' is 25 meters.
There are one million Muslims in Spain, of these 80% are immigrants from Morocco.
