According to IQNA office in Afghanistan, Makhdoom Rahim director of the project of translation of Quran into Pashto said that translating Quran into Pashto language took some 6 months.
"Based on the decision of the committee for publishing translations of holy Quran, only 1230 copies will be published in the first printing," Makhdoom said.
The first language of 40 percent of Afghans is Pashto and 75 percent of them can read and write it.
The most common languages spoken in Afghanistan are Persian (Dari dialects) and Pashto, both of which are Indo-European languages.
