Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim-majority country where Muslims make up some 86 percent of population. However, while the Bible has been translated into 650 local languages in Indonesia, translation of the Quran is only available in 7 languages, the report points out.
It says that there should be at least 50 million copies of translation of the Quran in local languages to meet the needs of Muslims in various areas in this country.
In this Muslim-majority country Christians have numerous local newspapers and radio stations to propagate their faith while the number of Islamic media outlets in local languages is scarce.
