Egypt’s Al-Azhar Plans Quran Competition
According to Al-Watan website, the competition has been planned for students of Al-Azhar University who will compete in two seperate groups for men and women.
Those willing to attend the competition can sign up from August 13 to 27.
The preliminary stage of the Quranic event will be held from August 28 to September 2.
Memorization of the entire Quran with 7 styles of Quran recitation, Quran memorization with one of the Quran recitation styles selected by the participant, and memorization of the entire Quran in one of the narrations are the categories of the competition.
The first two categories have been planned for students aged under 30 and 22.
Foreign students of the university who are under 22, the disabled and teenagers under 15 can participate in the third category.
The competition will be supervised by a group of Al-Azhar Quran experts.
Top five participants in each category will be awarded by the center.
