Avodu Abaza was an eminent scholar in the southern regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He contributed greatly to the establishment of Dar-ol-Quran centers in the country during the Bosnia war of the 1990s and afterwards.
He was also very active in Quranic programs in the European country.
Abaza was the prayer leader and preacher of the mosque in the Martyrs Cemetery of the city of Mostar.
In a message, Salem-effendi Dedovic, the mufti of Mostar, expressed condolences to Muslims and the family of Avodu Abaza over his death.
Dedovic described Abaza as an endeavoring scholar who did a great job in training a generation of resisting Muslims.
