TEHRAN (IQNA) – Egyptian Quran master Abdul Fattah Taruti said in a message posted on social media that he has lost his mother.

Taruti, who is the chairman of the Muslim World Quran Memorization Supreme Board, in a recent interview highlighted his parents’ role in his Quranic successes, saying their wish was to see their son get acquainted with the Holy Book.

“They sent me to the Maktab (Quran school) in the village to learn the Quran by heart and I managed to memorize the entire Holy Book by the age of 8.”

A Quran teacher discovered his talent in Quran recitation and taught him the recitation skills.

He also encouraged Taruti to recite the Quran in various programs in the village.

Taruti then went to Zagazig to study at a branch of Al-Azhar and continued improving his Quranic skills by learning from masters like Sheikh Mohammad Al-Lithi, Shahat Anwar and Saeed Abdul Samad.
