TEHRAN (IQNA) – Lebanon’s Al-Amal Al-Muqawama Front condemned Australia’s decision to blacklist the Hezbollah resistance movement as an arbitrary and unfair move.

In a statement, it said the decision was aimed at serving the interests of the Zionists and the US government.

The statement underscored that the move will not weaken Hezbollah’s resolve on its path.

Hezbollah is a popular and influential movement that has a massive popular base in Lebanon, it noted.

Regardless of political conditions, the flag of resistance against the Zionist enemy will always remain high, Al-Amal Al-Muqawama Front added.

In a widely condemned move, the Australian government designated the entirety of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization on November 24 following pressures from American and Zionist lobbies.

Hezbollah was established following the 1982 Israeli invasion and occupation of southern Lebanon. The movement drove out Israeli forces from Lebanon in May 2000.

Since then, the group has grown into a powerful military force, dealing repeated blows to the Israeli military, including during a 33-day war in July 2006.
