According to Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Farahani, head of “Avaye Elm va Iman Mehrvarzan” institute, the project is underway with the cooperation of 15 lecturers of Qom Seminary School.

He noted that those who suffer from severe hearing problems typically have a more limited lexicon and hence, a more simplified text is needed for them.

Two groups of people are active in this project, he continued. The first team is busy producing the required explanatory translation of the Holy Quran and the second team assesses the translations based on existing works of tafsir.

The works will be accompanied by exclusive video clips that use sign language to instruct Quranic teachings.

Pointing to the sensitivity of translating the Quran, Farahani added that it takes more than 40 hours to complete the translation of each page of the Holy Book.

He also hoped that the first volume of this book can be readied and published before the end of this Ramadan.
