TEHRAN - An important question is why there are no detailed verses that prove the existence of God in the Quran.

In a seminar titled “Is God’s existence proved in the Quran?”, Ahmad Shahgoli, a researcher in the field of philosophy and religion, discussed the issue. Here is a summary of his remarks:

Verse 61 of Surah Al-Ankabut reads: “If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth and has subdued the sun and moon?" They will say, "God has done it." So why are they wandering about!?” It notes that even disbelievers acknowledge that the universe has been created by God. This concept has been repeated several times in the Holy Quran. Therefore, as an obvious fact, the issue of the existence of God has not been discussed in the holy text.

Another reason for the absence of such an issue in the Quran is that the existence of God is among the highest-ranking intrinsic principles as humans have always acknowledged God’s existence.

Meanwhile, humans need to have a sort of purity in order to accept divine rules, however, stubbornness sometimes blocks man from reaching the truth. “(Muhammad), say, "It is God who has brought you into being and made ears, eyes, and hearts for you, but you give very little thanks.” (Surah Al-Mulk, verse 23)

Attention to rationality in Quran

The Quran notes that deniers will not believe despite miracles. “The unbelievers solemnly swear by God that if they were to be shown some miracle, they would certainly believe. (Muhammad), tell them, "Only with God are all the miracles." Even if a miracle was to take place, they still would not believe.” (Surah Al-An'am, verse 104)

The reason that some people fail to understand and believe the existence of God partly goes back to their sins.
