TEHRAN (IQNA) – Based on the Holy Quran’s verses, tranquility in society can be established revolving around the Holy Prophet (PBUH), who is someone who upholds unity and also guides the society.

In order for realization of guidance, people should love him even more than they love their close relatives.

This is according to Hani Chitchian, faculty member of the Quran and Etrat School of the University of Tehran, speaking in the 27th session in a series on Surah At-Tawbah. Following are excerpts from his remarks in the 27th session:

Verse 24 of Surah At-Tawbah says: “(Muhammad), tell them, ‘If your fathers, children, brothers, spouses, relatives, the property that you possess, the trade you fear may have no profit and the homely life are more beloved to you than God, His Messenger and fighting for His cause, wait until God fulfills His decree (of making the right distinct from the wrong). God does not guide the evil-doers.’”

This is somehow the continuation of verse 16 and addresses the Holy Prophet (PBUH). People are told why they like their relatives more than they love the Prophet (PBUH). They are told that they should love the Prophet (PBUH) more than they love their fathers, sons, etc.

Verse 26 is about the Battle of Hunayn and somehow answers the previous question: “Then, Allah caused His tranquility (sechina) to descend upon His Messenger and the believers; He sent legions you did not see and sternly punished the unbelievers. Such is the recompense of the unbelievers.”

The Prophet (PBUH) and believers maintain their steadfastness in the battle and God sends down tranquility and confidence to their heart, helping them to achieve victory in the battle.

This verse shows that God sends down tranquility revolving around the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Loving the Prophet (PBUH) means loving God and it does not preclude loving others. Love can be developed habitually but it would not be true love.

Then verse 29 says: “Fight against those People of the Book who have no faith in God or the Day of Judgment, who do not consider unlawful what God and His Messenger have made unlawful, and who do not believe in the true religion, until they humbly pay tax with their own hands.”

An important point to remember in Islamic society is protecting the status of Halal (permitted) and Haram (banned) and this is a duty of believers.

Verse 33 says: “It is God Who sent His Messenger with guidance and a true religion that will prevail over all other religions, even though the pagans may dislike it.” According to this important verse, the reason why God has sent sources of guidance is for the true religion to dominate the world. Prophets have been sent so that the divine religion will rule the world. So the more the society moves toward acting upon the divine religion, the more the sublime status of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is known.

In verse 40 we read: “If you do not help him, (Muhammad), God has already helped him. When the unbelievers expelled him and he was one of the two people in the cave telling his friend, "Do not worry; God is with us," then God gave him confidence and supported him with an army which you did not see and He defeated the cause of the disbelievers and made His own cause stand supreme. God is Majestic and All-wise.”

The question raised by this verse is why you do not help the Prophet (PBUH) while God helps His messenger?
