Quran Refers to Fresh Water Reservoirs under Oceans
They have found out that there are huge amounts of pure water reservoirs under the oceans, estimating there is some half a million cubic kilometers of this fresh water that is constantly flowing out.
This is more than the amount of fresh water humanity has used over the past century.
Researchers at the Flinders University in Australia say this amount of water can meet humanity’s need for hundreds of years.
The question is how fresh water can penetrate areas thousands of meters beneath ocean surface and remain there for over 20,000 years? The Quran says in Verse 22 of Surah Al-Hijr: “We send impregnating winds and send down water from the sky for you to drink and you have no (control over its) storage.”
This verse says God sends down water from the sky that is pure and fresh and is stored in a complicated way that humanity is incapable of doing it.
Who has informed the Holy Prophet (PBUH) of the fresh water reservoir underneath the oceans? It is indeed God, the Almighty, who says in Verse 89 of Surah An-Nahl “And We have sent down to you the Book making everything clear, as a guidance, and mercy, and glad tidings to those who submit.”
