TEHRAN (IQNA) – There are many science-related issues mentioned in the Holy Quran that are considered the Holy Book’s miracle because they were unknown to mankind at the time of revelation and scientists discovered them centuries later.

The I’ijaz al-Quran (miracle of Quran) website in an article has discussed the miracle aspects of the first three verses of Surah At-Tariq (86).

“I swear by the heaven and At-Tariq (the comer by night); What could let you know what the nightly comer is! (It is) the piercing star.” (Verses 1-3)

At-Tariq is a celestial body that has two features: It is a star and it is piercing. If we look for a celestial body with these features, we see that they fit neutron stars.

Moreover, At-Tariq has pulsations and that is what some neutron stars do. Some neutron stars emit beams of electromagnetic radiation that make them detectable as pulsars.

Neutron stars are among the densest objects in the universe. They are so dense that if one of them fell on earth, it would pierce the earth.

Neutron stars rotate very fast, with hundreds of rotations every second. That is why they create a powerful electromagnetic field and emit beams of electromagnetic radiation. This creates a sound like a hammer hitting an object.

Scientists have recorded these sounds, not directly because sound does not travel in vacuum, but indirectly via the radio waves emitted from neutron stars.

It is a divine favor to us that sound does not travel in vacuum because otherwise, stars’ sounds would reach us and we would go deaf.
