One of the spiritual points mentioned in the Quran is in the dialogue between Moses (AS) and God.
God tells Moses that whatever good you do, it benefits yourself.
“(We said): ‘If you do good, it shall be for your own souls; but if you do evil it is likewise.’” (Verse 7 of Surah Al-Isra)
The interesting point is that when God talks about good deeds, the scope is extensive but He talks about bad deed in the fewest words, very briefly.
In this verse, good is superior to bad in terms of word and scope of description.
Realizing this relation between good and bad is a great moral lesson and if someone does not understand this lesson, other lessons wouldn’t benefit him much.
The smartest people are those who realize that, first, good is better than bad and, second, whoever does good, its outcome would benefit himself before others.
